Project definition

Defining projects clearly is key to development of the most appropriate nature-based solution.

For each technology development project we perform a thorough review of the challenge. This involves looking at the big picture, and the implications of environmental, social, business, natural process, biological and regulatory aspects of the project.

Solution development

Next it’s time for the laboratory. We begin testing, drawing from our proprietary inventory of living organisms, each selected for the specialized effects they produce. Generally the solutions are based on carefully balanced combinations of these ingredients, along with the proper delivery medium necessary to make the end product highly practical and economical.

Field testing

Before large scale implementation, we conduct field testing in situ and study the results of product application, under controlled condition. The result is a clear documentation of application results compared to the control baseline. Any necessary adjustments in the formulation are made at this time. Field testing is conducted until the solution is maximized and the original challenge is met to full satisfaction.

Licensing

Once the client is satisfied with the technical and economic performance of the product, a licensing agreement is developed. This often gives our customer exclusive rights to this specific, custom-developed product.

Technology transfer

The final step in the Method4 process is purchase of all rights to the technology, where the solution becomes a proprietary product of the Method4 customer. All technical assistance and intellectual property are provided in the sale of the technology and its transfer to the new owners.
